Magnet - magnetic field has the following physiological effects: expansion of small blood vessels, acting against pain, changing the rheological properties of binders reduces or conversely increases muscle tension, reduces swellings, improves bone healing and locally improves metabolism. The number of applications depends on the treatment of an illness or condition: from 6 to 30 sessions.
Laser - direct effects of this method are thermal and photochemical, indirect effects are biostimulation – empowering cells, acceleration of healing, anti-inflammatory effect and pain-soothing effect - absorption of edema, muscle relaxation. The number of applications depends on the type of disease: from 5 to dozens of sessions.
Paraffin wraps – thermo-therapy method, during which is heat transmitted by conduction throughout the whole body. Paraffin with paraffin oil at a temperature of 56oC is used during this procedure. Application time is 20 minutes, usually 3 times per week to total 6 to 12.
Mud packs - thermo-therapy method, during which heat is transmitted by conduction and convection throughout the whole body. Used linen bag filled with moor with temperature of 45oC. Application time is 20 minutes. Number of sessions: 3 times a week, to total of 6-12.
Drinking therapy - not specific balneal-therapy with specific effects due to sorption of chemical substances contained in mineral waters. DT has a specific local effect on the gastrointestinal mucous and causes specific effects in target organs - liver, gallbladder, pancreas and kidneys. DT is a procedure of drinking mineral waters directly at mineral springs. Daily amount, divided into 2-3 doses, is from 600 ml to 1200-1500 ml. DT is performed ½ - 1 hour before each meal by drinking slow sips from the spa cups containing 200 - 220 ml. DT is accompanied by long walks. The recommended length of DT is 3-4 weeks.
Oxygenated bath – moderately heated (37°C) full-body bath in thermo-mineral water, into which is through a submerged grid with openings of 1 mm air blown through. Very fine air bubbles perform micro-massage of skin and subcutaneous tissue. The effect is relaxing. Length of the bath is 20 minutes, followed by 10-minute rest in bed. Recommended quantity is 3 times a week.
Carbon-dioxide bath - total thermo-mineral water bath with an indifferent temperature of 34-35°C. The bath is saturated with the gaseous carbon dioxide released on the skin in the form of tiny bubbles. Carbon dioxide has a significant effect of decreasing vascular resistance thus increasing skin blood supply and subsequent decrease in blood pressure, particularly diastolic. Length of the bath is 15 minutes, followed by a 10 minute rest on a sofa to extend the bathing effects. Recommended number of baths is 3-5 per week. Carbon-dioxide bath is not suitable for people with low blood pressure.
Iodine bath – warm full-body bath /38 ° C/ in thermo-mineral water with addition of activated iodine, in addition to the effects of heat /release spasms and pain reduction/ manifests the effect of iodine - improves elasticity of connective tissue and cartilage, reduces inflammation. In addition, it helps to stimulate the thyroid gland. Iodine baths are particularly suitable for musculoskeletal diseases. Length of a iodine bath is 15-20 minutes, followed by 10 minute rest ona a sofa. Recommended number of baths is 3 per week.
Scottish strikes - alternating octal hot and cold showers, with high-pressure stream of water. It starts from the front from the fingers on the feet going over the fingers on the hands, abdomen, chest and then over the back from the feet to the shoulders. It increases the irritation of heat and cold receptors and also mechanoreceptors in the skin. Recommended number is 3 times a week.
Whirlpool bath - moderately warm bath /37oC / in the swirling water, which affects thermo-receptors and mechanoreceptors and thus thermally and mechanically stimulates skin and subcutaneous tissues. Improves blood circulation with a further positive effect on the painful skin areas, scars and chronic edemas. It also improves circulation of the sap. It is very suitable for post-traumatic conditions, for example improvment of the joints mobility. The recommended frequency of whirlpool bath: 3-5x a week.
Underwater massage - in this procedure is reflected the combined effect of slightly warm bath / 37oC / massage and water jet pressure. This procedure is not suitable for people who have high blood pressure or heart disease. Length of procedure: 15-20 minutes. Recommended frequency: 2-3 per week.
Classical massage - hand massage supports blood circulation and metabolism of tissues in massaged area. Local effect of classic massage is manifested by irritation of receptors, supporting metabolism, thereby supporting the absorption of blood clots, swellings, and adhesions and reducing muscle tension. Before classical massage should be the patient’s body preheated and totally cleansed. Shower should be the final step of this procedure.Time of partial massage is 15 minutes, total massage 40 minutes. Recommendation: 3 times a week.
Inhalation - inhalation of individual ultrasound homogeneous aerosol thermal water has a positive effect on the dilution of mucus on the walls of the upper and lower airways, preventing them from drying out. Inhaled by mouth for 5 minutes and 5 minutes by nose. Recommended number of inhalations: 3-5x a week.
Individual therapeutic gymnastics - individual exercises under the guidance of physiotherapist. The passive and active exercises are performed to restore impaired function of the body. Recommended frequency: by the state, usually daily.
Swimming - swimming and movement in water at a temperature of around 28oC are suitable for muscle relaxation, it improves movement of joints ( particularly large bearing joints). Duration: 1 hour. Recommended 3 times a week.
Reflex massage – dry carried: hand massage performed by irritation of nerve endings in the skin, subcutaneous tissues and muscles. Eliminates the reflexive changes in those tissues. Duration: 15 minutes. Recommended frequency: 1 to 5 total.
Pneumopuncture - subcutaneous insufflations of small doses of carbon dioxide in the vicinity of acupuncture points. Carbon dioxide causes vasodilatation at areas of insufflations, increases blood circulation and improves local metabolism. Recommended amount: 2-3 times per week.
Ultrasound - the use of ripple effects for myorelaxation (micromassage muscle relaxation and mild heating of muscles) or antiedematosis ( transformation of gel in sol, which allows absorption of edema) and the effect of local improvement of blood circulation, is used for degenerative diseases of bones and joints, chronic arthritis traumatic conditions. Time of one session: 5 minutes. The recommended number of applications: 10 times total.
Diadynamic - combines galvanic effect and pulse current in various modifications, it has pain soothing and anti-edema effect, improves blood circulation and nutrition at the aplication site, it even relaxes and tones muscles. Duration: according to the combination of currents. Recommended applications: 3 times a week to the total number of 6-12x.
Oxygenotherapy - the increased supply of oxygen, supplemented by the use of substances that contribute to the utilization of oxygen in the body. Oxygen inhalation is suitable for people with diseases such as diabetes, post-cerebral events or cardiac problems and for people who use many medicaments. Oxygen therapy lasts 2 hours. Recommended number of sessions: at least 5 times.
Lymphodrenage with machine – anti-swelling effect due to using alternating high-pressure with a normal pressure in the cuff divided into separate chambers, thus forcing the fluids from the tissues into the blood vessels. It is suitable for reduction of swellings of the lower and upper limbs caused by insufficient function of veins or lymphatic vessels, swelling, traumatic and cellulites. Duration: 20 minutes. Recommended number of applications: 3 times a week.
Carbon dioxide dry-pack: whole-body plastic bag filled with carbon dioxide, in which the patient is packed up to his neck. It brings sensation of warmth, relaxation and calmness. It increases the blood circulation of the brain and muscles. Dry pack is suitable for people who cannot use carbon-dioxide bath (because of skin maceration). Duration: 15 minutes. Recommended 2-3x a week.
